On behalf of the Local Organising Committee I would like to extend a warm welcome and invite you to join us at the 16th International Symposium on Dendritic Cells 2022, taking place at  the Pullman Cairns International in Cairns, Australia in 9 – 13 October 2022

We are in the process of creating a dynamic and innovative scientific program which is packed with international and regional speakers, in a format that accommodates plenary, symposia and poster presentations. The five-day program will bring together leading immunologists, technologists, scientists and researchers from across the globe to review and present on dendritic cells, acknowledging their crucial role in health and disease, and the future of their potential through global research.

The Symposium will return to Tropical North Queensland to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its unforgettable iteration in Port Douglas organised by Ken Shortman and the late Derek Hart. Cairns is a vibrant region, first class tourist destination and known as the primary gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. The Pullman Cairns International is a world class facility offering a combination of comfort and convenience located in the heart of the city.

As I welcome you to the 16th International Symposium on Dendritic Cells 2022, I am grateful for the contributions of the Local Organising Committee, the Pullman Cairns International and Arinex our professional conference organiser.

I look forward to welcoming  you to Cairns, Australia, I hope you will take the time to explore beautiful Queensland, and perhaps a little further afield in Australia and New Zealand if you have the time.

Yours sincerely
Professor Jose Villadangos
